Parish council vacancy

September 25th 2021

A vacancy has arisen on Tregony with Cuby Parish Council following the resignation of Sean Mackenzie. The parish council would like to thank Sean for all his good work as a councillor on this parish and on the predecessor body of Tregony Parish Council.

A process needs to be followed before a new councillor is appointed. A formal notice has been prepared by Cornwall Council advertising the vacancy. Once this notice is published, there follows a period of 14 days during which an election can be required – this would need a written request from at least 10 electors in the parish. If no election is requested, the parish council itself will then start a process of co-opting a new councillor.

The date by which the requests for an election have to be received is 15 October.

See Parish council notice of vacancy.
