South West Water to drill boreholes in Sand Park – possible disruption to car parking

March 01st 2022

South West Water has advised Tregony with Cuby Parish Council that it plans to carry out some exploratory work in the Sand Park car park by Tregony bridge in the week commencing 7 March 2022.

We have been advised as follows, “South West Water is currently working on proposals to improve the sewage pumping station in Tregony with the addition of storage to reduce the number of spills to the river in wet weather events.  The current proposal involves laying a new large diameter sewer in the car park. In order to assess the viability of this option, our contractors would like to carry out borehole type trial pits in the locations shown by the blue crosses on the plan below. The works would be completed in a day and our contractors will endeavour to minimise inconvenience to users of the car park.”

Anyone who uses the Sand Park should look out for South West Water signage with more details of the works that will be carried out.
