Open Spaces

The council owns and maintains parcels of land within the parish such as:

The Giggan

Located behind the village hall - a small area of grass with a granite pillar and the old village pump that was relocated from The Square to the Giggan.

The Sand Park

Located by the bridge – provides a small parking area for visitors and residents. It also houses the Environment Agency monitoring station that provides the agency with information about river levels to alert them to potential flooding.

The Memorial Garden

Located on Fore Street – this used to be a play area before the new play facilities adjacent to the sports field were commissioned in 2009. The old site has been converted into a memorial garden, a place for sitting and quiet reflection. It was formally opened by the Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall, Colonel Edward Bolitho, in 2015.
