South West Water works in Sand Park to extend into April

March 18th 2023

South West Water have been installing a very large underground tank in the Sand Park to contain storm surges and minimise discharges into the Fal. The works were scheduled to be completed by the end of March. Unfortunately, because of unanticipated very difficult ground conditions, the works are over-running and will now not be completed until end of April. Also, some weekend working will be necessary in order to keep to this date. We have been advised by South West Water that works will need to take place as follows:

Mon to Fri (each week up to end of April 2023 – 07:00 to 18:00

Saturday 18th March – 08:00 to 17:00

Sunday 19th March – 08:00 to 17:00

Saturday 25th March – 08:00 to 17:00

Sunday 26th March – 08:00 to 17:00

The Sand Park will, therefore, remain closed to normal traffic and users until end of April.

South West Water have apologised for this but the works are essential in order to minimise the detrimental environmental effects that could result if the project is not successfully completed.
