Tregony with Cuby residents will no doubt have noticed the scaffolding tower that has been installed around the clock tower in Fore Street for the past few weeks. The parish council became aware of a potential problem with the structure at the top of the tower and realised that repair works would be necessary. Scaffolding was erected so that the extent of the problem could be investigated properly and any remedial works be carried out safely.

A structural engineer has examined the problem and made recommendations as to what needs to be done. The four posts supporting the roof over the bell need to be replaced with new steel posts. A listed building consent application has been made to Cornwall Council in respect of the proposed works and we are hoping that we will obtain approval from the Council promptly.
